The Hayward’s African Sacred Safaris Experience© is an exciting new venture designed by Peter Hayward for small private groups led by conscientious opinion leaders, business tycoons and top celebrities to conduct highly sought after philanthropic and adventurous excursions into the African hinterland with legacy building intention.
Hayward’s Grand Safari Expedition Company based on a 2500 acre private game reserve north East of Pretoria in the all new Dinokeng Region of Gauteng Province South Africa, specializes in doing special event safaris for illustrious business people, opinion leaders, celebrities and companies. Hayward’s have, over the past nineteen years, done exclusive tented safari camps for the likes of State Presidents, Celebrity TV Show hosts, world famous actors, multi-billionaires and top Blue Chip International corporations in various locations around southern Africa. These 5 Star Rated camps are notoriously GRAND with up to two hundred and fifty guests at a time being treated like royalty.
A Hayward’s Safari Camp experience has been the choice of leading global decision makers for over ten years – those requiring a totally exclusive and private venue for a unique and authentic African theme occasion. Every camp is set up in a ‘secret location’ ideal for exclusive group gatherings such as private weddings, extravagant birthdays and intimate special occasions.
WHO WANTS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
An African Sacred Safari is aimed at those illustrious movers and shakers who wish to avoid getting locked into a rigid “tourist type” safari itinerary or based in been-there-done-that hotel. They require an unprecedented degree of flexibility and want to learn about Africa and its unknown ancient wisdom and get involved in ways of making a meaningful difference to the future survival of the planet (whilst still enjoying the pamper and panache of their very own “hotel”).
BEHIND THE SCENES EXPLORATION
The Expedition Host in consultation with Mr. Peter Hayward (owner) is offered a selection of daily excursions led by renowned authorities in the various fields of ancient history, African shamanism, anthropology, rural sustainability, paleontology, meteorology diamond & gold history and ancient African archaeology. Depending on the interest and intention of the event, trips into neighboring provinces to interact and spend time with tribal royalty or the expedition scientists to track and microchip every threatened rhino can also arranged.
These small luxuriously outfitted camps catering to a minimum of 8 guests and a maximum of sixteen at a time appealing to those who would prefer to do something extremely adventurous by getting involved in an expedition to one of the Hayward’s sacred sites – a sustainable royal village where cross cultural information swapping and micro project programs can be started and developed or maintained or a lost city / ancient trade route revealing its mythical significance. The Hayward’s Campsites are usually set safely and securely alongside these villages but within adjoining game reserves teeming with wild animals ensuring the safari aspect of the experience remains authentic.
EXPLORING EACH DAY FROM HAYWARD’S HOME BASE
Alternatively, the Camp can be centrally located at the Hayward’s Safari Sanctuary headquarters within the Boekenhoutskloof hills just north of Pretoria’s famed Magaliesberg Mountain range. This idyllic venue under safari canvas is an ideal base from which to explore the great lost trails of southern Africa, from Ivory to gold, from diamonds to dolphins. Within a 200 km radius of the camp site a myriad of the world most exciting historic significances can be explored. This venue borders three neighboring provinces – Mpumalanga (Ndebele tribes), Northern Province (the Venda and Ba Pedi) and North West Province (The Tswana and North Sotho tribes). This makes interaction with these tribes part and parcel of the suggested itinerary.
Hayward’s are leaders in mobile safari camps so guests do have the option of requesting a temporary “fly camp” within one of the exciting game reserves close by, such as Kruger, Pilanesberg, Madikwe, Waterberg or the Kalahari.
Transfers to and from O R TAMBO Airport to collect VIP guests are arranged. For ease of transfers to excursion sites helicopters are suggested to make early morning explorative flights to villages or unexplored sites possible, ensuring the guests return each afternoon to the comfort of their Sacred Safari campsite where storytellers, chefs, butlers, guides, hostesses, health therapists and resident Shaman Sangomas are awaiting their arrival to pamper and relax them after the exhilarating outing.
PRIVACY & SAFETY
Campsites in reserves are totally exclusive and are not shared with anyone else other than wild animals and camp reserve staff. Clients are granted access to the venue only by owner’s or land custodian permission. Top Security such as Game Rangers, Medics and Close Protection Body Guards are suggested by Peter Hayward and his Management Team where relevant. Camps can be as “state of art” as required. Privacy, comfort, great interactions, amazing camp settings, respectful service, gastronomic cuisine and outstanding behind the scenes management are hallmarks of Hayward’s.
Apart from the daily excursions each day there are optional in camp activities that are provided. Clay pigeon shooting, long bow archery, fly fishing, falconry instruction, mountain biking, horse trails, picnics and star-gazing. A full complement of highly specialized health therapists operating under canvas from our Spice House Safari Spa are able to ensure guests unwind and de-stress within their stay.
