A two stop 7 day raid of sanctifying dynamics
Arrive in the land of gold. Spend the day visiting the heritage of the world’s greatest gold deposit which gave birth to places like Soweto and E’goli, Johannesburg. Enjoy a deep cultural experience as you visit the Apartheid Museum or the Cradle of Humankind – birthplace of man. Visit Africa’s biggest diamond works or shop for your final safari needs in the most sophisticated malls on the continent. Spend your first night in The Grace Hotel, one of the leading hotels of Africa. Indulge the senses with a “Welcome to Africa” dinner where your western rhythm is exchanged for that of Africa.
The next morning we board a private two hour charter (Rovos Air) that takes us directly into one of the world’s greatest wildlife areas, The Okavango Delta. After landing in the dusty town of Maun (place of the lion) we head off north in open 4×4’s into what is Africa’s greatest wetland park where we will spend the next 6 days at our specially prepared for us Hayward’s Grand Safari Camp.
This vast expanse of crystal clear water abounds with elephant and lion populations. Hyena, leopard, cheetah, crocodiles, hippo and various antelope are sighted daily. Our world class guides bring us close to nature like never before days are spent exploring either by boat or dug out canoe’s or by 4×4. Each evening is themed and entertainers from local villages are brought in to enthrall us with their culture. Star gazing and fireside interpretations are standard.
On day seven we head back to Maun by light aircraft where we board our charter back to Johannesburg. We arrive well in time to board our flights home – our 7 day Sacred Safari on Botwana’s jewel complete.
