The Raid on the Lost City of Africa ©

A two-stop 7-day raid of adventurous proportions!

Arrive in Gauteng, the land of gold. Spend the day visiting the heritage of the world’s greatest gold deposit which gave birth to places like Soweto and E’goli, Johannesburg. Enjoy a deep cultural experience as you visit the Apartheid Museum or the Cradle of Humankind – birthplace of man. Visit Africa’s biggest diamond works or shop for your final safari needs in the most sophisticated malls on the continent

Spend your first night in a leading hotel of Africa situated in Sandton, Johannesburg. Indulge the senses with a “Welcome to Africa” dinner where your western rhythm is exchanged for that of Africa.

Head off the following day into safari land on Rovos Rail– towards the north west sector where the Pilanesberg National Park abounding with antelope and the ever present Big 5 awaits or take a short historic charter aboard a Dakota airplane (a quick 30 minute hop) or choose a more adventurous 4×4 rally through age old villages where you meet rural elegance and ancient tribal ways alloyed into a new Africa.

Arrive at your very own private Hayward’s Grand Safari Camp site – specially set up, only for you. Spend 4 days with them as they introduce you to an exhilarating Africa. From hot air ballooning over big 5, to elephant back safaris, from guided walks to lion tracking to moonlit nights in search of lost stars. Decadent “Out of Africa” theme dinners to the sound of a lazy background saxophone set the mood for dancing under the moon.

On your last day of safari set off deep into the wilderness in search of the infamous Lost City where you will spend the evening and next day before heading back to Johannesburg and home.
