The Hayward’s history is a vibrant one when it comes to safari camp crew. Pioneering this new concept took a lot of courage and persistence and those that have worked at Hayward’s at any time have “worked their hearts out” to ensure this operation has always been able to hold its head high and maintain its 5-star standards of service.
This has never been a pastime for sissies and the Hayward’s camp crew, certainly deliver the magic formula specified by management to set up rare and valuable camps in five star expedition style luxury, representing the last of Africa’s true safari camp experiences!
CELIA HAYWARD
DIRECTOR AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCTION MANAGER
Celia grew up on a farm in the North West Province of South Africa. Celia achieved a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Tourism Management at the University of Pretoria in 2004 and cut her teeth in the hospitaly arena working shifts at upmarket Boutique Hotels. She furthered her training on board Norwegian Cruise Lines Guest Services and in 2006 she joined Peter Hayward’s as his Communications Officer.
Celia plays an outstanding role in developing the company’s team members through the Hayward’s Safari Academy and is the vital production link between Peter Hayward’s ability of camp design, functionality and event conceptualisation and applying that to her responsibility which ensures the client and guest experience is delivered exactly to their mandate.
Celia has the wherewithal needed to bring this all together into a fluid safari production. As Peter Hayward’s life partner, Communications Officer and Deputy Camp Manager, Celia’s knowledge of what it takes to create an award-winning safari event is infallible.
Celia Hayward is the Event Production Director and has been with the company since 2006, ensuring quotations and safari productions are handled to perfection. Her team of event delivery staff are dedicated to keeping the Hayward’s flag flying for outstanding safari service.
JERRY KATOGO
CAMP ESTABLISHMENT MANAGER
Jerry joined the Hayward’s team in 2007 and has developed into an outstanding Establishment Officer. He is proficient in keeping his various teams motivated and producing in top form ensuring the camp is ready to move and be built in record time whilst simultaneously ensuring staff are kept safe and operational.
