Our Two Seasonal Safari Camps set the pace for our southern Africa wide safari camp experiences (See Hayward’s Safari Sanctuary / Dinokeng & Daniel’s Kraal farm.)

*NOTE TO CLIENTS:-

For expeditions & events off our properties, clients usually negotiate the venue first (with land custodians) in conjunction with Hayward’s Safaris supporting documentation. Acceptance of our temporary camp can take months with Park Authorities. Cross Border Camps (more than 500 km from our bases) need to be minimum fourteen nights for your safari event to still be economical. (Think back-to-back groups).

History of Safari Camps in Southern Africa

For over 200 years the hunting rule has been that tented fly camps (seasonal or temporary) need to accommodate a hunting party made up of sixteen beds and hence to this day the remnants of these venues remain small and private and are offered exclusively for photographic safaris.

But this old rule in the 21st century, excluded big private event parties and corporate incentive groups forcing them to use only wilderness areas that already had hotels or lodges  (usually too small) built in or near them.

Each camp we setup delivers a brand-new event experience !

Camps can be located on private land, or set up in unique regions to experience natural phenomena and the history of earth – from geology to palaeontology, archaeology, anthropology to botany, zoology, entomology and astronomy – there is so much more to safari than than just observing animals from the back of a vehicle.
