Welcome to the Hayward’s Safari Sanctuary, a seasonal private tented camp set in the heart of the Bobbejaansberg Nature Reserve in Dinokeng region, less than an hour from Johannesburg yet a world away from everything ordinary.

Here, nature moves at its own tempo. Mornings begin with the hush of mist rising over the valley, and nights end beneath chandeliers of stars. An array of lavish tents nestle among indigenous boekenhout & African syringa forests, each appointed with antique furnishings, fine linens, and en-suite comforts that speak of the brand’s storied heritage.

The Safari Sanctuary is designed for those who want a curated safari experience – those who seek utmost privacy and tailor made hospitality without compromise. Every VIP gathering becomes immersive theatre: long tables flickering with candlelight, a choir of night sounds beyond the lantern glow, and service so discreet it feels like magic.

A Place for Every Story

Whether it’s an intimate celebration, a wellness retreat, or a production shoot that needs cinematic depth, the Sanctuary offers complete exclusivity. Our 2’500 acre private game reserve is comprised of rolling sedimentary hills and magnificent old Transvaal bushveld interspersed with savannah grasslands.

It adjoins the BIG FIVE DINOKENG GAME RESERVE of 21’000 hectares. The private reserve boasts well over 350 bird species, various antelope species with recorded sightings of leopard, brown and spotted hyena and caracal. Guests may by chance encounter baboons, vervet monkeys, and even rare and elusive species such as pangolin, civet, genet and aardvark whilst on foot.

Venture out on guided walks, game drives, or simply linger in the stillness that defines this place, a curated journey of the senses in an unencumbered bushveld environment.

Reserve the Sanctuary

The Hayward’s Safari Sanctuary in Bobbejaansberg Private Nature Reserve is now accepting exclusive-use group bookings for 2026 curated and bespoke safari retreats, productions, and milestone group gatherings of minimum TWENTY GUESTS and maximum SIXTY guests.

Each stay is tailor made per group requirements where possible ensuring no two safaris are ever the same.
