Hayward’s Grand Safari Company

Our award-winning mobile expedition tented company that started it all, way back in 1991. We set up private and bespoke authentic sixty bed tented safari camps at our Safari Head Quarters, within an hour’s drive from Johannesburg or OR Tambo Airport, adjoining the Dinokeng Wildlife Region and when required, set up tented camps for exclusive events in various wilderness and wildlife regions of Southern Africa.

Hayward’s Safari House

Our three bedroomed bush villa overlooking our primary waterhole in the Bobbejaansberg Private Game Reserve, Dinokeng wildlife region, is ideal for family’s and small weekend breakaways for private groups.

Peter Hayward’s Tented Camp Designs

With over thirty years of experience building, managing and operating tented camps, our designs are born from our direct experience of what type of tents work best for big group expeditions, temporary and seasonal camps.

Our showcase camp at Bobbejaansberg Private Game Reserve is the perfect venue and an ideal way to appreciate our camp layout and view the tent and furnishing designs we offer when building your fully functional tented camp.

Hayward’s Hospitality Services

Our in-depth knowledge of what it takes to run a 5-star service facility, staffing it professionally and managing it accordingly has stood the test of time.

With guest service rating averaging 96% over the past 25 years of safari service, we have built up a vast experience in operating large, tented camps and private venues offering a turnkey hospitality service for venues of forty to well over two hundred beds. We specialise in providing short term hospitality service staff to assist with events at private hotels and lodges. This service includes, hotel room servicing, complete catering for staff and guests and the management of laundry services to ensure a seamless well organised turnkey hospitality service for your event.

Bushveld Botanical

We run our own apiary at each of the venues we manage. Annually we harvest pure organic honey which our bees gather from the surrounding floral kingdom. The honey is pure and delicious. Our sustainable food gardens also form a big part of our conservation drive.

Apart from feeding ourselves and our staff, giving our guests the opportunity to pick fresh salad and herbs when they stay with us, we also plant supplement food sources to enhance the environment but also feed our pollinators in the dearth months. This range will slowly expand into various supporting products and play a vital role in the continued protection of our wilderness areas by ensuring bees are ever present.

Daniel’s Kraal Farm and Goose House Cottage

This historic guest farm, set just off the famous R62 (longest wine route in the world) on the outskirts of the small Klein Karoo town of Calitzdorp, has been the favourite halfway stop between Cape Town, Cango Caves and Addo Elephant Reserve en-route to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) since the early 1800’s.

Situated approximately 330 km from Cape Town along this world famous R62 route, the old Daniel’s Kraal pioneering farm, makes for a wonderful breakaway to experience the Cape Floral Kingdom and succulent headquarters of planet earth. The Farmhouse sleeps ten guests on a self-catering or fully catered basis and the Goose House Cottage sleeps a further two guests. There are loads of exciting new developments taking place at this magnificent venue set a mere hour and a half from George Airport, which is the gateway to the spectacular Garden Route.

Celia is constantly on the lookout for products that are perfect as gifts for our VIP GROUPS – from hand crafted canvass luggage bags ideal for those exploring Africa, to hand stitched finely crafted leather handbags, utility bags and the likes. All user friendly and supporting rural artisans and craftmanship at the highest level in the regions we travel or run safaris in.
